Chris joined United as a trainee in 1991 and played in the FA Youth Cup winning team a year later. He was the captain of the England youth team and product of the same youth team as f.ex. David Beckham, Paul Scholes, Gary Neville, Phil Neville and Nicky Butt. His career was cut short because he suffered a double leg fracture on Boxing Day in 1999. He was only 24 years old.
