Legends Weekend is hosted by Arctic Lakeland a truly magical place which is located in the northernmost part of Lakeland Finland, the largest lake district in Europe.

Arctic Lakeland is an adventure paradise for nature and culture loving people, a top destination for outdoor enthusiasts and a favourite centre for winter activities with a snow guarantee. During Legends Weekend there will be plenty of time to explore the outdoors.

March is peak season for winter wilderness safaris in Vuokatti due to deep snowpack and significantly longer, brighter daylight hours. Arctic Lakeland can be explored with snowmobiles, reindeer or husky sleigh rides, skis, snowshoes, ice skates, fatbikes… Options for fun on snow are endless! You can check more about activities here.

Other magical thing about march is that it coincides with the spring equinox, geomagnetic activity often spikes, making late winter one of the most active periods for the Northern Lights in Central Finland.  Head away from town lights to the shorelines of Lake Sapsojärvi in Sotkamo or Lake Nuasjärvi in Vuokatti to make sure the night sky is extra dark. You can also take part in guided night expeditions: Take a snowshoe or snowmobile sleigh tour into the dark forest heights to watch the night sky, complete with open-fire hot berry juice and local snacks.

After a long day of outdoor adventures its time to relax in a traditional finnish sauna and if you are brave enough: dip in the frozen lake for a swim..

and all of these are just an added bonus for enjoying the Legends Weekend program.

It is easy to say that your week at Arctic Lakeland Legends Weekend will be memorable!
